About the Association

YKM Tak Fung Kwoon Kung Fu Association is a traditional Chinese martial arts and lion dance organization in San Francisco, deeply rooted in the Yau Kung Moon (柔功門) lineage.

Operating as a non-profit, the association focuses on preserving kung fu traditions and frequently performs in local community and cultural events. We are a San Francisco mainstay, with a major presence at the Chinatown Flower Market Fair and other Bay Area gatherings.

Our Style

Yau Kung Moon (YKM) — a southern Chinese system blending soft and hard techniques, internal power, and practical self-defense.

Our Lineage

Part of a wider Yau Kung Moon network with branches and associated sifus across the Bay Area. Students build foundations that feed directly into our competitive lion dance team.

Students learn foundational skills, traditional forms, weapons, and conditioning — and have the opportunity to join our celebrated lion dance team, carrying the culture forward through performance.
