Sifu Richard Ow

Sifu of YKM Tak Fung Kwoon

Sifu Richard Ow is a deeply respected figure in the San Francisco martial arts community, renowned for his lifelong dedication to the Yau Kung Moon Kung Fu system. Having discovered his passion for Kung Fu and traditional lion dancing at the age of eleven, he spent decades training, competing internationally, and preserving this rare southern Chinese art form. To further his mission of passing on these traditional teachings, he leads his own branch and school, the Yau Kung Moon Tak Fung Kwoon (also widely recognized as the Richard Ow Kung Fu Association). Through this association, Sifu Ow channels his commitment to Chinese martial arts and cultural preservation to the next generation. His students actively represent Tak Fung Kwoon at major community events across the Bay Area, frequently performing high-level lion dances, drum routines, and Kung Fu demonstrations at Lunar New Year celebrations, city festivals, and martial arts championships.
