Individual Conduct

Except for authorized class breaks, all students are expected to focus on learning and perfecting martial arts and/or lion dancing. At no time should students be engaged in other non-kung fu related activities. It is expected that students are self-disciplined and can practice independently. Repeated disobedience will not be tolerated and may cause class suspension. YKM follows the traditional family concept that students are to help each other and view each other as brother or sister. While other programs assign physical age as the measure for seniority, martial arts recognizes seniority in terms of when students begin their training. Therefore, please learn to respect and help others whenever possible. Learn who your older kung fu brothers and kung fu sisters are quickly.

YKM Salute

Traditionally, salutes vary depending on which school you attend. A salute is extremely important as it represents honor, commitment, but most importantly, respect. When done properly, the YKM salute also projects the essence of the YKM shorthand form of defend and attack methodology. Please make sure to salute your Sifu, senior students and other elders. It is of great disrespect to enter and leave the presence of your Sifu without saluting.

Food & Drinks

No food or beverages are allowed in the practice areas. The practice areas are the main Training Hall and the punching bag area. Do not leave your food/beverage at the school as we must share in the responsibility in keeping the school clean and safe.

I have read the above guidelines and will follow them to the best of my ability. If it is determined that I cannot abide by the above guidelines after repeated warnings, I understand that my education with YKM may be terminated and that the prepaid tuition is non-refundable.
